About the event
Ace, a tall and reserved basketball star, begins anew at all-girl Catholic high school where she quickly becomes an unexpected recruit for the girls’ volleyball team. While Coach sees her athletic promise, team captain Jana perceives Ace as a threat. Despite their competitive dynamics, Ace finds herself increasingly captivated by Jana, grappling with conflicting emotions amidst their shared passion for sports.
This sapphic romance unfolds against the backdrop of a small town in the Philippines, exploring the triumphs and challenges of women's sports through a refreshing female gaze. Rookie challenges and redefines the sports genre, weaving a tale of burgeoning love and self-discovery, imbued with the beautiful summer feel of a high school romance.
